These are aimed squarely at our teens, compelling them to swap their moon boots for age-appropriate content. The platform pledged to limit repeated recommendations of videos that could pose body image issues, such as those comparing physical… you get the idea.

The Rumblings of a Giant Making Smarter Choices…or Just Dieting?

In a move as surprising as finding out that the moon is not made of cheese (sorry, Wallace and Gromit), YouTube seems to have grown a conscience. They’re actively taking steps to ensure their younger viewership isn’t being pushed videos that could harm their body image or self-esteem. On the horizon, one can see the faint glimmerings of a responsible internet giant, almost as rare a sight as Halley’s comet.

And so, the internet giant decides to diet, cutting out all those junk videos that can mess with young minds. Their new diet plan? “A moment on the lips, forever on the hips” rewind, play, rewind… I mean, talk about a fitness routine. But hey, if it means a healthier online environment, we’re all for it. So here’s to YouTube’s new year resolution, may they stick to it longer than most of us do ours!
