Elon’s Newest Toy Deflates Like a Birthday Balloon

Twitter-X Not Flying So High

Imagine buying a shiny new sports car only to find out it can’t do more than 50 on the open road. That’s a wee bit of what Elon Musk must feel with his shiny new social media toy, affectionately named Twitter-X.

The microblogging sensation that had everyone tweeting like melodious robins in springtime has experienced a bit of a cold snap. The Wall Street Journal shared some alarmingly non-tweet-worthy news: a 16% droop in daily active users in September. This report card handed out by focus group Sensor Tower was more of a ‘must-try-harder’ than ‘top-of-the-class’.

Stickiness Factor, and Not in a Good Way

Once hailed as the hallway where everybody shouted their thoughts into the oblivion, Twitter-X seems to have turned into a slithery, sticky quagmire rather than the promised playground.

Reports indicate that the average user experience, otherwise known as ‘sticking around long enough to make a difference’, was also more lethargic than enthusiastic. If your client base is less active than a sloth after binge-watching Netflix, you might have some issues.

Hot Take: Elon, The ‘Not-So-Sticky’ Twitter-X Wielder

Surely our dear Elon’s enthused about inheriting this titanic social media toy. But judging from the descending user rate, it appears as though this new toy is fast losing its shine. Hang in there, Elon, maybe the Earth is simply rotating slower – you know, causing the lesser tweets.

Now, we don’t suggest immediately donning your space suit and heading back to Mars because of this, dear Elon. But it might be worth considering – if only for the Martian rock collection.
