Forget socks and fragrant bath bombs, they’re unveiling their very first lunar lander, set to launch on none other than December 24th. It seems Santa won’t be the only one soaring through the sky that night. Talk about some fierce holiday competition!
The reindeer get some high-tech rivals
The lunar lander won’t be flying solo. United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) spanking new Vulcan Centaur rocket is set to play Rudolph to Astrobotic’s Santa Claus. Now isn’t that an upgrade from a sleigh? Tory Bruno, ULA CEO, dropped this Christmas cracker during the CNBC Technology Executive Council Summit, hinting that the launch window could be between December 24 and December 26. Who needs a white Christmas when you can witness the inaugural Vulcan launch?

Here’s a spicy eggnog for thought – Have you ever wondered how Santa manages to deliver all those presents in one night? Well, some may say it’s holiday magic, others might theorize about the space-time continuum. But I’ve been thinking: maybe Santa has been outsourcing to tech companies all along. If a Pittsburgh-based company’s spacecraft can make it to the moon this Christmas, who’s to say Santa isn’t moonlighting as a space entrepreneur, eh? All I’m saying, keep an eye out for a jolly old elf rocking a space helmet and rocket boots this year.
