Xbox Shakes it Up: Let the Game of Thrones Begin

Microsoft Remixes Its Xbox Squad

Apparently, Microsoft’s switching things around faster than a player deck in Uno, especially after getting their hands on Activision Blizzard. They’ve promoted Matt Booty to the grand throne of president of game content and studios, giving him the extra job of handling ZeniMax. On the other hand, Sarah Bond’s now the top boss of Xbox, managing the whole platform as well as dodging hardware disasters.

Chief Marketing Officer Calls it Quits

And in a twist right out of a soap opera, Chris Capossela, the chief marketing officer, after a 32-year innings with Microsoft, has decided to hang up his boots. We’re not sure if he’s off to a beach somewhere or just needs a long nap, but after all those years, who wouldn’t?

Booty Takes the Helm

With Booty on top, we now have an expanded organization within Microsoft Gaming that easily elbows in ZeniMax and Bethesda. According to Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, ZeniMax will still function as a separate unit led by Jamie Leder. So essentially, it’s just a bigger playground for all these big folks.

Hot Take:

In this game of corporate musical chairs, it’s only a matter of time who gets which chair when the music stops. Or maybe it’s just Microsoft’s way of playing “Booty, Booty, Who’s Got The Booty?” Either way, it goes to show, gaming isn’t just about joysticks and consoles, sometimes it’s about who gets the corner office too!
